History
Rooted in tradition
Irish SetterE begins with a color and a job. Mid-century Red Wing tannery russet looked like an Irish setter’s coat, and the name stuck to a work boot built for long days. The line later added hunt leather for upland and big-game miles, then casual lasts that still feel like shop footwear.
Looking to the future
The brief has not changed: waterproofing that holds, toes that meet the standard on the ticket, and a break-in that settles rather than fights you. New families — Pipestone, Wingshooter, VaprTrek — keep that brief while updating membranes, insulation, and closures.
Barn Bluff Work Leather LLC keeps the Red Wing shop open for the catalog you see here. The company name on the invoice is ours; the last still thinks in miles.
